Lakehead Heating & Cooling

Accessibility

Usable By Everyone.

Heating and cooling isn't optional, so neither is being able to reach us. Here's where we stand and how to flag a problem.

Our commitment

We want anyone in Duluth and the greater Northland to be able to read this site, understand what we do, and get hold of us, whether they browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, rely on captions, or need larger text.

We build against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard most widely used to judge whether a website is accessible. We treat that as an ongoing target rather than a box we've ticked: accessibility is something we keep working at as the site changes, not a certificate we hold.

What we've done

  • A skip link so keyboard users can jump straight past the nav to the page content
  • Visible focus outlines on every link, button, and control
  • Text and interface colours checked against the 4.5:1 / 3:1 contrast minimums
  • Reduced-motion support for visitors who ask their device to limit animation
  • Labelled landmarks, one main heading per page, and a described mobile menu
  • A plain-language sitemap at /sitemap as a second way to reach any page

Where we know we fall short

We'd rather name the gaps than imply there aren't any:

  • We have not yet completed a full manual screen-reader pass on every page
